INSTRUMENT QUALITY CHECKLIST

A stainless steel instrument quality checklist for B2B buyers.

Ask useful questions about product references, finish, function, marking and inspection before approving an instrument order.

Agree what the article is before assessing it

Quality review begins with identification. Confirm the article code, pattern, dimensions, material and finish against the requirement you issued. A generic product name is not enough when several variants share similar names or appearances.

Use the same reference across quotation, sample review and purchase order. This helps ensure the team is discussing one defined configuration rather than a changing interpretation of it.

Turn visible expectations into clear checks

Describe the checks that matter to your product instead of using only broad terms such as premium quality. Depending on the instrument, that may include surface finish, alignment, joint movement, edge protection, marking legibility and packing condition.

  • Article and revision identification
  • Surface appearance and finish
  • Relevant dimensions and working-end profile
  • Movement or alignment where applicable
  • Marking, packaging and label review
  • Recorded result and required corrective action

Keep approval evidence useful for the next order

Record whether a sample is approved, approved with conditions or requires changes. Keep photographs, measurements and written comments with the relevant article reference. When a repeat order is planned, this record makes it easier to confirm what was accepted and what still needs attention.
